Project Summary

Introducing a community service platform that connects volunteers in California with small food donations they can personally deliver in real-time to those in need.

WPE is one of the largest food recovery organizations in California. With support from the Citi Foundation, WPE will be able to scale Food Rescue Hero, an app-based initiative, and provide more than 500,000 additional meals to food-insecure neighbors. This pioneering tech solution connects food producers’ surplus fresh food to available volunteer food-runners for real-time food delivery. See the app in action!
