We will enhance SYAs, CCRCs and VSLAs besides facilitate formation of a Cooperative society to build socio-economic resilience of the poor to resist and respond to streetism and homelessness.
We will rescue, rehabilitate, and reintegrate street-living communities, mainly the youth, through the SYAs model that prioritizes individual transformation, social reorganization, and economic resilience-building strategies of apprenticeship, vocational training, placements, and entrepreneurship. We will reduce the propensity of vulnerable street-leaning households to make streets their abode by forming and strengthening VSLAs in select slums of Nairobi, Kisumu, and Eldoret. We will enable the creation of Waste Handlers Savings and Credit Cooperative Organisation to cut socio-economic shocks. We will reduce vulnerable children's attraction to street life by establishing CCRCs that provide talks on human rights, child protection, and alternative care, particularly the kinship model.
