Jamaica YMCA's Dignity and Empowerment Program

The Jamaica YMCA invites the Citi Foundation to make a transformational investment to support the economic empowerment of hundreds of homeless New Yorkers in Jamaica, Queens, including many diagnosed with HIV/AIDS, a population that faces unique barriers to securing employment. We will offer financial coaching and job training workshops, providing stipends to support continued attendance. Additionally, we will directly connect participants to employment through partnerships with local organizations. Our work will help participants to gain lifelong skills and facilitate their transition to stable housing and successful careers. Our work will empower individuals with the tools necessary for long-term financial stability in a community facing a cost-of-living crisis.
