The Global Food Banking Network

United States

Project Summary

Expanding its technical support, mentoring and delivery of financial resources to newly established food banks worldwide, including in Thailand and Ghana, that are supporting communities struggling with poverty and food insecurity.

The Global Food Banking Network's Food Bank Accelerator program provides the next steps and resources to accelerate development of food banks in regions where food insecurity is especially acute. GFN provides technical and financial support, mentoring, peer-to-peer connections, and partnership opportunities that might otherwise be unavailable to young food banks. In 2023, GFN welcomed six new food banking organizations into the Accelerator from Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Democratic Republic of Congo, Cote D’Ivoire, and Nigeria.
