Food Security

The Campaign Against Hunger

United States

Project Summary

Upgrading its online food pantry delivery service, enabling low- income communities located in New York City food deserts to use government benefits to access fresh, healthy food.

The Campaign Against Hunger (TCAH) leads innovative strategies to combat food insecurity with a holistic approach integrating urban farming, education, and advanced technology. Central to TCAH's mission is urban agriculture, providing fresh, nutrient-rich produce to urban communities and promoting sustainable food systems. Their workforce and culinary arts programs offer vital education and skills development, fostering self-reliance and economic growth in food-related fields.

A key innovation is the Fresh Vibes Cyber Market, an online platform enhancing food access for low-income families by facilitating convenient, affordable shopping for healthy foods, particularly benefiting SNAP, FMNP, and Health Bucks recipients. TCAH's Fresh Vibes Trucks, mobile farmer's markets, deliver healthy food directly to food-insecure areas, overcoming transportation barriers.

Through urban farming, educational programs, the Fresh Vibes Cyber Market, and mobile markets, TCAH ensures nutritious food is accessible to all communities.
