The Rizq Housing Innovation Lab facilitates access to low-cost, climate-resilient housing models within impoverished, disaster-affected homeless communities in Pakistan.
In partnership with the Citi Foundation, the Housing Innovation Lab will allow Rizq to act as low-cost housing facilitators and community developers at a greater scale. This will include scaling its ongoing efforts to provide emergency response shelters in disaster-stricken areas, as well as conducting research and development (R&D) to identify, evaluate, develop and implement a greater variety of low-cost, climate-resilient housing models that can then be implemented within housing-insecure communities in disaster-prone Sindh. The HIL will then scale and implement the shortlisted models through machinery and materials provision, capacity-building training workshops, and bridging gaps between donors and communities in needs.
