Housing Ownership for Australian Women: Little Green Houses for Her- breaking cycles of poverty and homelessness through affordable, sustainable and permanent housing for women via micro-communities.
The initiative is a pilot to demonstrate a new innovative solution for women & their children at risk of homelessness to access permanent housing assets & break the intergenerational poverty cycle. We will develop a scalable model for affordable, accessible housing finance & housing ownership for women - offering immediate & generational environmental and socio-economic benefits. The women's economic insecurity/ homelessness crisis will be addressed through the creation of housing asset acquisition within a micro-community (3 little houses with separate land titles on one standard block). Each community will consist of 3 households (2 single mother families with 2-3 children each & an older single woman), living in separate, functional, environmentally sustainable, energy-efficient houses.
