Project Summary

Establishing innovation hubs in European cities to help local entrepreneurs access tools, training, and funds to launch and scale their food-related businesses.

EIT Food is Europe’s leading food innovation initiative, aiming to make the food system more sustainable, healthy, and trusted by consumers. Established by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) in 2017, it focuses on entrepreneurship and innovation in the food sector. EIT Food unites key industry players, agri-food startups, research centers, and universities across Europe, coordinating a multi-million-euro EU grant allocation for projects.

The Ample Programme: Ensuring food security and accessibility.EIT Food's Ample Programme aims to improve food security and accessibility for low-income and underrepresented communities, providing access to healthier food, employment, and business growth opportunities. The programme focuses on three key areas: community, business, and learning. Collaborating with Citi Foundation and NGOs, it promotes access to nutritious foods and job creation in the agrifood industry. Agrifood startups and small businesses can access boost vouchers and training to enhance food security.
