Kickstarting a Nubian Vault eco-construction sector to offer affordable, decent, durable housing to poorly housed low-income families and refugees in North Ivory Coast.
Our program aims to catalyze the establishment of a self-sustaining local eco-construction market, providing an increasing number of low-income families, including refugees, access to affordable, secure, and durable homes. Collaborating with local authorities and partners, we will simultaneously work in 3 nearby localities in North Ivory Coast. We will train local masons in the Nubian Vault eco-construction technique and initiate a revolving fund managed by a local women organization to provide loans to low-income families seeking to build their Nubian Vault homes. Initially, we will finance the construction of Nubian Vault homes to be donated to host families accommodating refugees, serving both as training sites for the masons and examples showcasing the benefits of such constructions.
