As an Interaction Design Lead for the New York Studio of IDEO.org, Juan Pablo is mainly focused on using technology to create thoughtful design systems, ensuring that they are usable, accessible, and sustainable in the long term. He is also interested in creating interactive journeys with narrative experiences through visual design. Juan Pablo started his creative career as an art director in advertising and used that experience to concept art for various design and production studios. Inspired by the innovative use of technology in fine art and performance, he moved to New York to pursue those connections. Since then, his projects have ranged from designing dynamic interaction designs for physical spaces in museums and cultural institutions to conceptualizing public installations that have toured numerous cities. Juan Pablo holds a master’s degree in Design and Technology from Parsons and an undergraduate degree in Illustration from MICA. He also spent many years working with educational institutions as an instructor sharing his knowledge of all the latest technologies and design practices. Looking forward, he hopes to continue to share his experiences with others to help them on their own creative journeys.
